Ryes, the true American whiskey?

Ryes were the predominant American whiskey for nearly two centuries and are now making a serious comeback.

Turns out they are more punchy upfront and more receptive to modern 'finishing' techniques than bourbon whiskey. Their spicy and robust taste profiles offer better balance to the use of used wine/beer/spirit barrels or fresh toasted oak in a secondary maturation.

I can recommend all these ryes below, each offering their own take on the modern rye profile at different price points.
